The Bangladesh Poultry Industries Central Council (BPICC) is the voice of over all poultry sector in Bangladesh. This agro-based sector in Bangladesh. The apex body represents almost all segments of the poultry sector in Bangladesh. BPICC is committed to the sustainable growth of this sector. Its main objectives are to serve the stakeholders, ensure the production of safe and quality poultry products for the consumers, and address challenges facing the industry.
The poultry sector has undergone a silent revolution since the nineties in terms of investment, production, job creation, and meeting the growing demand for poultry eggs, chicken meat, and other poultry products.
The producers are preparing to enter the export market, meeting local demand. Bangladeshi producers are very much serious about the quality, food safety and consumer rights. BPICC is focusing on capacity building of the farmers, ose who are involved in production, processing, maintaining strict bio-security and hygiene in production chain, avoiding antibiotics, setting-up of modern laboratories for quality checks and diagnose diseases. We are also using latest technologies, world class breeds and adapting scientific knowledge & skills. At present, many of our local companies are maintaining European Standards and we are expecting that more companies soon will come up to this platform.
Since the last two years BPICC has been taking initiatives to increase poultry production both quantitatively and qualitatively. It is continuing dialogues, discussions and consultations with the stakeholders as well as with the policy makers to address existing challenges and ensuring smooth supply of chicken egg & meat at an affordable price all through the year.
The leaders in BPICC believe that the united efforts will bring about a positive change in the poultry industry in Bangladesh, help to establish a friendly business environment and help to brand Bangladeshi poultry products in the global market.
The challenges are big, but our dreams are larger than that. I believe that the poultry eggs will be the cheapest source of animal protein, and chicken meat will be the first-choice meat in Bangladesh within a very short time.
