Breeders Association of Bangladesh (BAB) was established in 2004. Syed S. Kaisher Kabir was the founder president and Mr. Moshiur Rahman was the founder general secretary. BAB is a member of the Federation of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI); endorsed by the Ministry of Commerce, and registered with the Joint stock company as a not-for-profit business association, under section 28 of the companies Act 1994. BAB has a 15-member Executive Committee. Total members of BAB is 103. Election is held in every two years. Any Breeding Farm owner can be a member of this association maintaining certain official formalities.
âTo promote, protect and safeguard the common interest of its members at home and abroad;
âTo watch over and protect the general trading interests in every sphere of poultry and breeding trade of Bangladesh or any part thereof and the interests of persons engaged in the trade in Bangladesh;
âTo enlighten and help the farmers and others in the safe and economic husbandry & management of Commercial Chicks as well as the healthy poultry birds specially the chickens;
âTo foster the responsible and safe production of quality Parent Stock management, Day-Old-Chicks (DOC) and commercial products like egg & meat with due regard for the interest of the community and the environment;
âTo promote or oppose legislative and other matters affecting the trade;
âTo collect and circulate statistics and other information relating to the Breeding management and trade and Breeder Farms & Hatcheries;
âTo adjust controversies between members of the Association;
âTo establish just and equitable principles in the poultry Breeding Management;
âTo form a code of conduct of practices to simplify and facilitate transaction of deal in Parent Stock & Poultry Breeding Management;
âTo communicate with trade Associations and other mercantile and public bodies throughout the word and concert and promote measures for the protection of the trade and persons engaged therein and specially in matters touching the interests of Members of the Association;
âTo enter into and assist in schemes for the poultry Breeding Farming;
âTo initiate and assist in schemes in furtherance of poultry Breeding Farming promotion at home and abroad;
âTo establish and support or aid in the establishment and support of Association, Institutions, Funds, Trusts and convenience calculated to benefit employees of the Association or the dependents or connections or such persons and to make payment towards insurance and subscribe or guaranteeing money for charitable of benevolent objects or for any exhibition or for any public, general or useful object;
âTo invest the fund of the Association not immediately required in such manner as may from time to time be determined;
âTo advance money to such persons, associations or companies and on such terms as may seem expedient;
âTo undertake and execute any Trust the undertaking whereby may seem desirable and either gratuitously or otherwise;
âTo obtain any provisional order or legislation for enabling the Association to carry any of its objects into effect or for effecting any modification of any existing legislation touching the Poultry Breeding trade in Bangladesh Or for any other purpose, which may seem expedient, and to oppose any proceedings or applications, which may seem calculated, directly or indirectly, or prejudice the poultry Breeding trade in Bangladesh;
âTo promote freedom of contract freedom of contract and to resist, insure against counteract and discourage interference therewith and to subscribe to any Association or Fund for any such purpose;
âTo protect the Members of Association against person whose character of circumstances render them unworthy of participating in and carrying on the poultry Breeding trade;
âTo diffuse information as to sound principles of trading in poultry Breeding and to impress upon those who carry on the Poultry Breeding, Parent Stock & Day Old Chicks trade, the necessity of maintaining an intimate knowledge of the state of their affairs by periodical investigations;
âTo consider, originate, support improvements in the laws affecting the Poultry Breeding, Parent Stock & Day Old Chicks trade;
âTo subscribe to become a member of and co-operate with any other Association whether incorporated or not, whose objects are altogether or in part similar o those of this Association and procure from and communicate to any Association such information as may be likely to forward the objects of this Association.
